Heritage & York is a small to middle-market advisory firm. We provide very deliberate services and don’t dilute our expertise by branching into other filler services. We provide strategic services designed for the ownership of small and midsized businesses. Our aim is heavily involved in preparing and facilitating a business owner’s access to capital. Likewise, we also focus on the eventual sale of a company from initial planning through completion of the sale. We are both deal makers and advisors. We understand all things corporate finance and mergers & acquisitions, which is why we choose to do a few things differently than the pack.
We know that our clients are masters of their own domain, but that doesn’t always make them right. Heritage & York has always been able to attract the best of a seasoned talent pool that doesn’t rely simply on book smarts. Our talent is street smart, too. All senior positions are filled with staff that have experienced the highs and lows of entrepreneurial pursuits. Our senior staff successfully walked in our clients’ shoes before entering the advisory world.
In establishing our firm, we saw an opportunity to not just talk finance and selling a company, but to also teach our clients. We understood that for us to be successful in achieving our clients’ goals, we had to figure out how to better prepare them to run their companies. Lenders, investors, and buyers wanted to eventually move us out of the way so that they could talk to our client, who is the other party to the transaction. To increase the likelihood of a successful transaction we needed to work on our clients’ weaknesses. We needed to, in all cases, better prepare our client not only to enter a financial market, but to better run their company while moving towards an eventual transaction.
Rather than just working on getting a client to market using historical and pro forma analysis, we spend as much time and effort giving our clients the tools to increase revenue, profits, and value.
We learn from all our clients and continue to look for and implement best practice solutions. We feel our honest and forthright approach creates substantial value for our clients and provides a higher degree of personal satisfaction for us. We believe that we have made a meaningful contribution to the success of many of our clients and we will continue to do so in the future.
